The Last Day Fixed

If you are enrolled in a class and you decide that you no longer need or want that class, you must drop that class by the last day to drop with a refund or you will be responsible for the charges. A class must be dropped by 11 p.m. on the last day to drop with a refund in order to avoid academic or financial penalties.

The Last Day

If you no longer plan on attending or completing your classes in a given session, you can remove all of them from your current schedule by requesting a complete session drop/withdrawal up until the appropriate deadline. This should be viewed as a last resort as there may be serious academic and financial consequences. Please refer to the Tuition Refund Policy to determine if dropping/withdrawing from classes will generate a tuition refund. The timing of your request determines whether it is a drop or a withdrawal.

Registration deadlines determine the last day you are able to add, drop or withdraw from classes. Each class has its own set of registration deadlines which are based on the length of the class as well as the session in which the class is held. The drop/add/withdrawal deadlines listed on the Academic Calendar apply to classes scheduled in the regular A/B/C sessions. If your class does not follow the A/B/C session timelines, the drop/add/withdrawal deadlines are prorated. The best way to determine the registration deadlines for a class you are registered for is to sign in to My ASU and click on the calendar icon next to the class in the My Classes box. To determine the registration deadlines for a class you have not yet registered for, use the online Class Search and Course Catalog to search for the class and click on the Dates column in the search results.

This is the last day to add a class or to drop a class without receiving a grade of "W" on your transcript. Adding a class after the drop/add deadline is considered a Late Add and requires instructor, department, and college approval. All withdrawals after this date will result in a grade of "W" on your transcript for each class withdrawn.

This is the last day to request a withdrawal from a class while staying enrolled in other classes in the same session. A withdrawal from a class after this date is only available as part of a complete session withdrawal (see below).

This is the last day to request a complete withdrawal from a session. As part of a complete session withdrawal you must withdraw from all of your classes in the session. Beginning the first day of the fall and spring semesters undergraduate students are required to contact their college/school to facilitate the withdrawal process.

For individuals, the last day to file your 2022 taxes without an extension is April 18, 2023, unless extended because of a state holiday. You could have submitted Form 4868 to request an extension to file later during the year.

The last day to file taxes for individual federal income tax returns is usually April 15 unless this falls on a Saturday, Sunday or official holiday. Some state-level holidays can extend the tax deadline by another day. You can request a six-month extension by filing Form 4868, making your last day to file individual income taxes October 15, or the next business day if this is a weekend or holiday.

If you also file taxes for your small business as a partnership or S corporation, the last day to file taxes is March 15 or April 15 for C-corporations unless this day falls on a weekend or official holiday. If your business runs on a non-calendar tax year, your federal tax return is generally due by the 15th day of the third month following the end of the company's fiscal year.

A governor is elected every four years. The last gubernatorial election was 2022. A president is elected every four years, in a year which is a multiple of four. The next presidential election year is 2024. A Presidential Preference Primary Election is held on the third Tuesday of March.

The last day to register is dependent on the student's career and the session in which the class is scheduled. See Enrollment Dates + Deadlines to determine the last day to register. Students registering after the first day of the fall and spring semesters must pay a late registration fee of $25.00. This deadline will be strictly enforced. The student's schedule at the close of the drop/add period constitutes the official registration for that semester.

As of the first day of classes and through the last day of registration for credit, as stated in the Academic Calendar a student may not add a course with a Change of Schedule form without the permission and the signature of the course instructor.
