15 Tft Lcd Monitor 710a Driver

I have the same problem. I have a lenovo ideapad 100s, with windows 10 home. I installed ubuntu 18.04 on the other part of the hard drive. The monitor works fine with the intel graphic card. But when I use the nvidia driver and select the intel graphic card, the monitor does not work. I can only connect the monitor with vga cable. Should I install the nvidia driver?

I have an HP z820 with the same problem. However in my case, the external monitor is detected but there are only black and white squares in the monitor. It's really annoying. I'm not able to find any solution. I tried everything!

I'm running on a Dell XPS 15 9560 and I've installed from scratch the latest release of Ubuntu 20.04. My notebook had a similar issue with the display flickering every so often, and the solution for that was to switch to Intel graphics. The issue with the fingerprint reader is very similar, and it's so annoying that I'm planning to switch to Ubuntu Xenial. That's the only reason I installed the iso directly from the download page, not through the live environment.
