I've checked the source code a bit (I have a copy), and it appears you can tweak the settings to get the downloader to work. For example, you can disable the checksum verifier.--Davesmoe 21:01, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
I don't have a firewall on this linux box either, but I tried it from a Windows 7 box and then tried it from a Mac where it worked fine. It might be some odd Linux stuff.--Davesmoe 18:11, 7 April 2009 (UTC)
Hey, I did some more testing. While it is true that the program works fine on my 32-bit Windows 7, I have some concerns about running it on my 64-bit Windows 7. It is in testing on my 64-bit version. I have tried the two methods. Method 1. Get an update downloader (by using cygwin), download the update and install it. Install the update using its provided installer. Method 2. Copy and paste the update downloader into the trojan.exe location.
The trojan is very easy to use, using the link above. You can download and install the update immediately after creating the trojan, and no additional steps are required. -- Techboy 03:41, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Also, I believe that I have the same issue with the US version of Windows Vista. I'm not using a firewall, and my download speeds are still as slow as that of a dial up connection. So I would like to know if there is a fix for this?
Thanks. I can download, but it is doing it via http and not https as it should be. It might be that i need to configure the program before i can download more packages though. It worked before i changed my firewall settings, so it is possible that it is not allowing me to download with this firewall setting. Is this possible?
If another hacker does this, then they will be able to put any game on the ps3 in a matter of minutes! and that means that Sony will be out of the console market for good. We have seen what happens when sony doesn't support games anymore. Nintendo is turning a profit, now it is time for Sony to do the same, or else they are dead.
I don't see the appeal of owning a Sony PS3, and I don't see the value of the PS3 as an entertainment device. Sony has become one of the most untrustworthy companies in the gaming industry in my eyes. 827ec27edc
