Jane Wellons of Deseret News did not like the movie and wrote, \"Promising it would be a \"horror screwball,\" director Anne Fontaine, along with her co-writer, Christine Choy, dial down the effect of berserker to an acceptable pace in Season Of The Witch.\"
The DVD Collection of Vijay Deen Reviews, the well-known reviewer at DVD Collection, reviewed the movie and wrote, \"Writer-director Anne Fontaine presents a Nigerian god-detective film called Season Of A Witch. The Ghanaian-based piece of supernatural horror is an absolutely shocking and already out of this world movie. It’s hard to know which way is up in the bizarre Nigerian-inspired comedy. This is one of the more off-the-wall, imaginative, and inventive supernatural horror movies we’ve seen in a long time. When the devil showed up, he brought his best friend, and it seems that friend (and best friend) might be the devil’s sidekick, Son Of A Witch. Who knew?\"
The second half of the movie produced for film distributors in China and Hong Kong, called A Prodigy. The film runs for 2 hours, 20 minutes and was shot with the help of Hong Kong cinematographer, Peter Wong. 7211a4ac4a
